Lenovo Legion Go Concept: A Folding Screen Gaming Handheld

Lenovo is reportedly developing a unique concept for its Legion Go handheld gaming device: a model featuring a folding screen. This innovative design aims to offer gamers the flexibility of both a compact handheld experience and a larger-screen gaming tablet, potentially reshaping the portable gaming landscape.

Expanding the Gaming Experience

According to Windows Latest, the concept device will boast a 7.7-inch OLED screen in its folded configuration. When unfolded, the screen expands to a more expansive 11.6 inches. This dual-screen functionality allows the device to seamlessly transition between a portable handheld mode and a larger-screen gaming tablet, offering versatility for different gaming scenarios.

Key Specifications and Features

The concept is expected to be showcased at the upcoming MWC Barcelona event. Initial specifications suggest the device will be powered by an Intel Core Ultra 258V Lunar Lake processor. It is as well reported to have a battery capacity of approximately 48Wh and feature detachable controllers.

The detachable controllers are designed with enhanced functionality. One controller can reportedly function as a mouse for first-person shooter (FPS) games, and includes a small integrated screen to display additional information. Lenovo is also rumored to be including a wireless keyboard and touchpad, enabling the device to be used as a mini laptop for gaming or productivity tasks.

Pricing and Availability

Official pricing information has not yet been released. However, given the folding screen technology and included accessories, the device is anticipated to be positioned in the premium segment of the handheld gaming market.

The Future of Portable Gaming

Lenovo’s folding screen Legion Go concept represents a novel approach to portable gaming. By combining the portability of a handheld device with the immersive experience of a larger screen, Lenovo aims to cater to a wider range of gaming preferences and use cases. The device’s potential to function as both a gaming console and a portable workstation could appeal to a diverse audience.
