Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl is currently receiving treatment for a lower-body injury in his native Germany, sidelining him for the remainder of the 2025-26 NHL regular season. Draisaitl sustained the injury during the first period of a game against the Nashville Predators on March 15, after a hit from forward Ozzy Wiesblatt NHL.com. He briefly left the game but returned for a couple of shifts before being ruled out for the remainder of the contest. The Oilers subsequently placed him on long-term injured reserve on Thursday.

The 30-year-old is being treated by Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt, a renowned sports physician known as “Healing Hans,” in Munich, Germany The Athletic. Dr. Müller-Wohlfahrt has previously treated high-profile athletes including Cristiano Ronaldo, Usain Bolt, and Kobe Bryant.
