Scorsese Films in Úštěk, Czech Republic, for New Mystery Thriller

Úštěk, a historic town in northern Bohemia, is currently serving as a filming location for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming mystery thriller, What Happens at Night. Production began on March 14th, with filming scheduled for March 16th, weather permitting. While reports circulated regarding Leonardo DiCaprio’s presence, it has been confirmed that a double was used in his place, as DiCaprio prioritized attending the Oscars Litoměřice daily.

A Czech Republic Production

The film, also known under the working title Schnapps, is expanding its production across the Czech Republic, having already filmed near Kolín and in Prague Prague Reporter. The Prague filming will primarily take place in studio.

Filming in Úštěk

In Úštěk, filming is focused on arrival and departure shots intended for the opening and closing credits Prague Reporter. To create a winter setting, the production team is artificially creating snow in areas around Mírové náměstí, Panský dvůr, and parts of 1. Máje street Prague Reporter. Temporary road closures are in effect, requiring the removal of vehicles and adjustments to local bus routes.
