Martin Scorsese is set to direct Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in the upcoming psychological thriller, What Happens at Night, with filming scheduled to begin in Prague in February 2026. The project, an adaptation of Peter Cameron’s novel, is being financed and produced by Apple Original Films and Studiocanal.

The story follows a married American couple traveling to a snowy European city to adopt a baby, where they encounter a series of enigmatic characters and begin to question their reality. Czech Republic Film Incentives
Filming is expected to take place in Prague, Czech Republic. While the State Audiovisual Fund has not publicly listed the film under that title, it is common for productions to use alternative names to maintain secrecy. In 2025, filmmakers applied for 9.5 billion crowns in incentives, a significant increase from the previous year. Reddit discussions suggest Scorsese arrived in Prague in early February 2026.
