Lexus RZ Electric SUV: Range, Steer-by-Wire and F SPORT Model Arrive in Latvia

The fully electric Lexus RZ has launched in Latvia, offering a new evolution in electric vehicle technology. The updated model range includes three versions: RZ 350e, RZ 500e, and the sporty RZ 550e F SPORT. Key improvements focus on increased range, faster charging times, and innovative features like steer-by-wire electronic steering.

Enhanced Range and Charging Performance

The new RZ models benefit from a larger 77 kWh battery, increasing the range to up to 559 km (WLTP) for the RZ 350e. Charging times have also been reduced, with the onboard charger now supporting up to 22 kW AC charging. DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes under optimal conditions. Advanced battery pre-conditioning – heating or cooling – further optimizes charging speed, even in cold weather.

Steer-by-Wire Technology

The Lexus RZ is the first model to feature Lexus’ new steer-by-wire electronic steering system. This system eliminates the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels, converting steering actions into electronic signals. The result is an instantaneous steering response with only 200 degrees of turn between extreme positions, providing precise control and reduced driver effort. The system is standard on the RZ 550e F SPORT and available as an option on the RZ 500e.

DIRECT4 All-Wheel Drive System

AWD RZ models are equipped with Lexus’ DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system, which continuously adjusts power distribution between the front and rear axles to optimize grip, and stability. The system’s extended torque distribution range enhances ride smoothness and control.

Interior Refinements and F SPORT Performance

The RZ’s interior follows the Lexus Tazuna philosophy, prioritizing a driver-centric layout with controls positioned for minimal eye and hand movement. Premium materials, high build quality, and enhanced soundproofing contribute to a refined and quiet cabin experience. New Dynamic Shadow lighting adds a dynamic mood to the interior.

The RZ 550e F SPORT stands out with its dual high-power motor system, sporty design elements, and an Interactive Manual Drive mode that simulates gear shifting for a more engaging driving experience. This model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.

Pricing and Availability

The new all-electric Lexus RZ is available for purchase in Latvia starting at €59,900. The price includes a 5-year maintenance program covering manufacturer-specified maintenance and parts at authorized Lexus service centers across the Baltic countries, up to 100,000 km. Test drive vehicles are expected to arrive in Latvia in the coming weeks.
