Lille Kicks Off Christmas Season with Market and Ferris Wheel

The Christmas market season officially begins in the region. The Lille Christmas Village opens its doors this Wednesday, November 18, 2025. The Christmas market, with its 90 wooden chalets and illuminations, welcomes its first visitors starting at 11 a.m. on Place Rihour.On the menu: mulled wine, gingerbread, and tartiflette to enjoy. It’s also an opportunity to find gifts to place under the tree: Christmas decorations, socks, perfumes, jewelry, and plush toys.

A Christmas market also means the first rides on the Ferris Wheel.Its blue cabins begin to turn from noon on Grand’Place. A ticket for adults costs seven euros, and a ticket for children costs five euros. The L’Idéale Chenille ride is also returning from 2 p.m. in front of the Opera.
