Comedian Lim Woo-il (44), who received attention for his ‘salty’ character, is becoming a hot topic by complaining about the injustice he was accused of cosplaying (imitating) common people in the past.
On the 9th, a video titled ‘Woo-il exploded in controversy over commoner’s cosplay’ was posted on a YouTube channel. This is a video that captures an episode in which Lim Woo-il appeared on the 2023 web entertainment show ‘B-Class Hearing’.
At the time, Lim Woo-il confessed, “I was struggling with life, so I opened the first adult product shop for a Korean celebrity. I also bought a camera called Life and installed it in front of a certain Pocha in Hongdae. However, with the arrival of the coronavirus (pandemic), I was earning 120,000 to 150,000 won in monthly sales, but I recently closed it.”
Lim Woo-il said that perhaps because he worked hard to make a living, he had no desire for clothes or cars. Comedian Nam Ho-yeon, who also appeared in the video, mentioned that Lim Woo-il changed his car to Genesis. In response, Lim Woo-il explained, “I changed the car because the right window did not close.”
Nevertheless, when Nam Ho-yeon pointed out, “There is a rumor that Woo-il hyung wears a show-off commoner cosplay for his character and drives a foreign car behind the scenes because of his closeness,” Lim Woo-il expressed his anger by saying, “Is it so wrong to buy a used car worth 20 million won at the age of 43?”
Lim Woo-il made a name for himself as a representative salty character in the comedy world. On the MBC entertainment show ‘I Live Alone’, the daily life of living alone in an apartment with a view of the Han River was revealed, garnering attention.
