Lindenwood Beach Volleyball Splits Matches at Beach Bear Bash, Prepares for Home Opener

OZARK, Mo. – The Lindenwood University beach volleyball team concluded competition at the Beach Bear Bash on Saturday with a split in their final two matches. The Lions delivered a dominant 5-0 sweep of Southwest Baptist before falling 0-5 to Missouri State.

Lions Sweep Southwest Baptist

Lindenwood started the day strong, securing a decisive 5-0 victory over Southwest Baptist. The team nearly swept all sets, with the No. 1 pair of Abby Jacobs and Annalie McWhorter facing a tough challenge in a three-set match (21-12, 21-23, 16-14).

The remaining Lindenwood pairs secured 2-0 wins:

• Susanna Beretti and Gabby Belcher won at No. 2 (21-14, 21-11).
• Aubrey Sheppard and Katie Bockhorst prevailed at No. 3 (21-9, 21-11).
• Lexie Schauffler and Jade Roth secured the win at No. 4 (21-17, 21-16).
• Dixie Farish and Morgan Willis completed the sweep at No. 5 (21-11).

Missouri State Claims Victory

The Lions faced a tougher opponent in Missouri State, ultimately falling 0-5. Nyah Wilson and Susanna Beretti were the only Lindenwood pair to extend their match to three sets, losing 1-2 (18-21, 21-18, 8-15) at the No. 1 position.

Looking Ahead

Lindenwood will host its only two home matches of the regular season next weekend. The Lions will open Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) play against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, March 7th, at 3:00 p.m. They will then host McKendree on Sunday for Senior Day at 11:00 a.m. Source
