From Variety Award Stage to Los Angeles Kia Forum Live Collaboration
The collaboration materializes months after Buckingham revealed that the young artist—whose real name is Shane Michael Boose—had approached him about a potential musical partnership. At the time, Buckingham stated in an interview that he remained unsure what form a collaboration might take. The uncertainty ended in Los Angeles when Sombr invited Buckingham onto the stage to a rapturous reception from the audience. Buckingham took a guitar from a technician, led Sombr and his band through the first verse of “Go Your Own Way,” and delivered a blistering guitar solo during the outro.
Shane Michael Boose Stumbles on Lyrics During Fleetwood Mac Performance
While Buckingham executed his vocal and instrumental parts cleanly, the performance included a notable misstep. Boose appeared to stumble over several words and struggled with the song’s phrasing during the second verse, raising questions about his familiarity with the track or the extent of their rehearsal. Despite the vocal stumble, audience members in the building did not appear to mind, frequently joining in during the choruses. Observers noted that nerves likely played a role in the miscue given the intimidation factor of performing alongside a musical hero.
Future Fleetwood Mac Prospects Remain Uncertain for 2027
The stage appearance raises fresh questions about whether Buckingham will ever perform the classic track again with his surviving Fleetwood Mac bandmates. Buckingham has not shared a stage with the band since 2018 following the souring of his relationship with Stevie Nicks. Reports indicate the two musicians are back on speaking terms, and Buckingham has hinted that significant developments could arrive in 2027.
