Loriot Exhibition in Saarlouis Extends Hours Due to Popular Demand
Saarlouis, Germany – The Ludwig Galerie in Saarlouis is extending its opening hours for the highly popular exhibition “Ach was – Loriot – Künstler, Kritiker, Karikaturist” (Loriot – Artist, Critic, Caricaturist) due to overwhelming public response. The exhibition, dedicated to the work of German humorist Viktor von Bülow, known as Loriot, began in March 2026.
Extended Opening Hours
Starting March 1, 2026, the Ludwig Galerie will offer extended hours to accommodate the large number of visitors. The new schedule is as follows:
- Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- Thursdays: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM (starting March 5, 2026)
- Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays: 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Free Public Tours
The Ludwig Galerie will likewise host free public tours of the Loriot exhibition on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
About the Exhibition
The exhibition showcases over 300 original drawings, sketches, and caricatures by Loriot, offering a comprehensive look at his artistic career and cultural impact. Visitors can explore Loriot’s work from his early drawings to his famous cartoons and sketches from his films. The exhibition also highlights his surprising connection to music, including stage designs from his opera productions of “Freischütz” and “Martha.”
