The decisive move came on the Poggio, the final climb of the race, where Kopecky followed an attack initiated by Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Premier Tech). This effort also brought Noemi Rüegg (EF Education-Oatly), Eleonora Gasparrini (UAE Team ADQ) and Dominika Włodarczyk (UAE Team ADQ) clear of the peloton. The breakaway group successfully established a slender lead on the descent, carrying it to the finish on Via Roma.
