Jim Harbaugh Demands Better From Justin Herbert After Los Angeles Chargers Fall to Three Defeats
Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh demanded better execution from quarterback Justin Herbert following a 24-16 defeat to the Buffalo Bills, leaving the team with three losses to start the NFL season, bild.de reported.
“Sei besser. Sei besser. Das treibt Justin an, das treibt mich an, das treibt seinen Quarterback-Coach an. Ich meine – das treibt uns alle an,” Harbaugh said of his quarterback, according to bild.de. The head coach entered the season with heightened expectations after bolstering his staff by adding offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel from the Miami Dolphins.
The early struggles have sparked reports of friction within the locker room, though Herbert pushed back against those claims in the US media. “Ich denke, unsere Mannschaft steht eng zusammen und ich denke, dass es auf gar keinen Fall an lautstarker Führung mangelt,” Herbert told reporters, as cited by bild.de. The 28-year-old quarterback recently became engaged to pop singer Madison Beer ahead of the campaign.
Social Media Distractions Surface During Training Camp
Away from the field, the Chargers faced off-field attention this week when reality television personality Jaiden Bacciocco discussed her visits with the franchise. The 22-year-old “Love Island” star spoke about her experiences during the team’s summer training camp in El Segundo on the US podcast “Kaylor’s Crash Out,” as reported by bild.de.
Bacciocco described receiving direct messages from multiple players after collaborating with the team’s media department on promotional content. “Nachdem wir weg waren, haben mir sechs von ihnen per DM geschrieben. Ich dachte mir so: Alter, ich war wegen des Footballs und der Vibes da, und nicht, um in eure DMs zu sliden!” Bacciocco said, according to bild.de. She added that she declined the advances, noting that none of the six players involved included Herbert.
Upcoming Matchup Against the Seattle Seahawks
The Chargers face a difficult test on Sunday when they travel to play the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, bild.de reported. The squad must quickly regain its focus following the three-game losing streak and the recent media distractions.
