Italian acoustic guitar virtuoso Luca Stricagnoli will perform at the “Spīdola” concert hall in the VEF quarter on February 27, balticevents.info reports.
Early Life and Career
Luca Stricagnoli was born in Varese, northern Italy. He began guitar lessons at the age of 10, and quickly developed an interest in unconventional playing techniques, experimenting with the instrument and combining it with others.
Stricagnoli gained recognition early in his career, winning several young talent showcases. At 22, he became one of the first young Italian guitarists to be signed by the American guitar label “CandyRat Records”.
Breakthrough Success
A significant turning point came in February 2015 with the release of Stricagnoli’s version of the AC/DC hit “Thunderstruck”. Within a month, he received performance offers from around the world. He embarked on his first UK tour in September 2015 and was a featured performer at the London Acoustic Guitar Show.
His debut album was released in October 2015, achieving strong sales globally. He concluded 2015 with a concert tour in Germany, followed by performances in China and Scandinavia in 2016. He has since successfully toured in the USA, and Canada.
Unique Playing Style
Stricagnoli is known for his innovative playing style, being the only performer in the world who can play 2, 3, and even 5 guitars simultaneously, incorporating his legs into his performance. Legendary guitarist Stanley Jordan (4 Grammy nominations) has described Stricagnoli as having expanded the genre of fingerstyle to “fingerfootstyle”.
Riga Performance: “High Voltage” Tour
In Riga, Stricagnoli will present a new show as part of his European concert tour, “High Voltage”. Tickets are available at the box office and through Ticketbest.
