  • Construction of an additional railway line connecting the central station with Hollerich.
  • Extension of the two-track line towards Kleinbettingen.
  • Separation of traffic flows towards Bettembourg to alleviate bottlenecks.
  • Construction of a new platform and lengthening of existing Platform 1.

The €138 million investment will be allocated over several phases, beginning with a preparatory phase in October 2026 and concluding in December 2031. Transport minister Yuriko Backes emphasized the importance of this investment, stating it will improve capacity, maintain punctuality, and contribute to sustainable development.
