Lyric Lewin is a versatile journalist and photographer whose career spans international kitchens, newsrooms, and visual storytelling. Currently serving as the lead food writer at the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Lewin brings a unique perspective to the culinary landscape, informed by her background in photo editing and reporting for CNN.

Early Career and Photographic Achievements

Lewin began her career as a food photographer whereas attending college, capturing striking images for publications like Esquire, Condé Nast Traveler, and Garden & Gun. Her function often focused on the intersection of food and artistry, showcasing dishes like glazed lamb shoulder, pâté de campagne, salmon, chilaquiles, and trout.

CNN Years and Recognition

Lewin’s experience at CNN honed her storytelling skills. As a photo editor and writer, and later as assistant producer of CNNPhotos, she covered a diverse range of topics, including women in the food industry, sustainable food programs, and the apply of food to preserve cultural narratives.
