Donate Blood, Get Rosalía Concert Tickets: Madrid’s Unique Initiative
Madrid is offering a unique incentive to boost blood and plasma donations: the chance to win tickets to spot Rosalía perform at the Movistar Arena. This initiative, launched by the Community of Madrid, aims to ensure adequate blood reserves during the Easter period, a time when donations typically decline.
Boosting Blood Reserves for Easter
Starting Monday, March 16, 2026, the Community of Madrid will host a week-long blood and plasma donation marathon at the Regional Transfusion Center in Valdebernardo. The goal is to bolster supplies in anticipation of increased demand during Semana Santa (Holy Week).
Rosalía Concert Tickets as a Reward
As a gesture of gratitude, all participants in the donation marathon will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to see Rosalía perform on March 30, 2026, at the Movistar Arena.
The Importance of Plasma Donation
The campaign as well seeks to raise awareness about the critical importance of plasma donation. Plasma is not only vital for direct transfusions but also serves as a key ingredient in manufacturing essential medications for approximately 6,000 patients in the Community of Madrid.
Plasmapheresis: A Safe and Efficient Donation Process
Plasma can be obtained through a process called plasmapheresis, which takes around 40 minutes. This method allows for quick donor recovery, enabling individuals to donate again within 48 hours.
Who Can Donate?
The requirements for donating plasma are the same as those for donating blood: individuals must be 18 years or older, weigh more than 50 kilograms (approximately 110 pounds), and be in good health. The Community of Madrid encourages eligible individuals to donate at least twice a year.

Expanding Donation Efforts
This campaign marks the start of a series of blood donation marathons in Madrid hospitals, aiming to collect between 9,000 and 10,000 additional units of blood this spring. The Community of Madrid’s Transfusion Center processes around 240,000 units of blood annually, with 85% of the plasma used for pharmaceutical production.
