Magallanes Take 2-0 Series Lead Over Caribes in Venezuelan League Playoffs

Caracas, Venezuela – The Navegantes del Magallanes secured a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven postseason series against the Caribes de Anzoategui with a 3-1 victory on Wednesday. the win gives Magallanes a significant advantage as the series shifts to its next phase.

A decisive three-run home run by Tucupita Marcano in the bottom of the fourth inning proved to be the difference, accounting for all of Magallanes’ offensive production. Marcano’s hit with two runners on base propelled the naval team to their second consecutive win.

Caribes de Anzoategui managed to score their only run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Antonio Piñero, narrowing the gap. However, they were unable to generate further offensive momentum throughout the remainder of the game.

Magallanes pitcher Ricardo Sanchez earned the win after a strong five-inning performance, allowing just four hits and one run. The Navigators’ bullpen effectively preserved the lead, securing the victory.

The third game of the series is scheduled for Thursday,as Magallanes aims to extend their lead and move closer to championship contention.
