The incident occurred around midday on Monday, September 21, in the 1st arrondissement of Lyon, according to reporting from Le Progrès. The victim gained unauthorized access to a tunnel on Line A before being struck by an incoming metro train, initial police findings indicate.
Rescuers treated the severely injured man in a state of absolute emergency before transporting him to a hospital with a life-threatening prognosis. Despite medical intervention, the victim succumbed to his injuries the following day.
