Kim So-yeon’s entry into the entertainment world began at the age of 14 with the Miss Binggrae beauty pageant, which she won despite using a marker pen for eyeliner. She debuted in the SBS drama Dinosaur Teacher and quickly gained recognition through roles in Reporting for Duty (1996) and Soonpoong Clinic (1998). Her early success also included hosting the music program Inkigayo and securing numerous commercial endorsements, becoming one of the first Korean teen stars to earn over ₩100 million from modeling.
