A man in his 20s was rescued by helicopter from the Gaustatoppen mountain range in Tinn, Norway, after becoming lost in steep and challenging terrain. According to the South-East Police District, the hiker was found physically uninjured but exhausted and cold following the search operation.

Rescue Operation Details

The emergency response was initiated after the individual lost his way in a remote area near Gaustatoppen, one of Southern Norway’s most prominent peaks. Police operation leader Marius Fosvold confirmed that the hiker had strayed into steep, rugged terrain where he was unable to continue on his own.

A rescue helicopter was deployed to the site to locate and extract the man. The operation concluded successfully, with the hiker safely transported from the area. While he was described as physically unharmed, authorities noted that he was suffering from the effects of exposure and fatigue due to the difficult conditions.
