Possible Child Abduction Attempt Near El Cajon Prompts Inquiry
El Cajon, CA – The San Diego county Sheriff’s Department is investigating a potential child abduction attempt that occured Thursday afternoon in the Bostonia area near El Cajon. Authorities are urging the public to be vigilant and report any details that could aid in the investigation.
according to the Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 2:00 PM on Thursday, an 8-year-old boy was walking home from school in the unincorporated community of Bostonia when a white pickup truck approached him on Greenfield Drive, near State Route 67. The driver of the truck allegedly instructed the boy to enter the vehicle.
“The boy immediately ran away from the vehicle, and the truck subsequently drove away,” stated Detective Sergeant Colin Snodgrass. A concerned citizen witnessed the incident and remained with the child until his mother arrived, recognizing the situation as possibly dangerous.
The suspect is described as a white male, bald, with a muscular build and visible tattoos. The Sheriff’s Department has assigned a detective to the case and is actively pursuing leads.
