Authorities in Norwalk are investigating a fatal shooting after a man was discovered with gunshot wounds inside a crashed vehicle on Sunday, October 20, 2024. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the scene near the intersection of Studebaker Road and Imperial Highway, where they pronounced the victim dead.
Investigation into the Norwalk Fatal Crash
The incident began when patrol deputies arrived at the crash site and discovered a vehicle that had collided with a pole. Inside the driver’s seat, they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived shortly after and declared the man dead at the scene.
As of Monday morning, the identity of the victim has not been released by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, pending notification of his next of kin. Investigators have not released a description of a suspect or a motive for the shooting.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives were dispatched to the area to process the scene, leading to the temporary closure of Studebaker Road and surrounding streets to facilitate the investigation. The department has stated that the investigation is in its early stages.
