Registration Details
Spring 2026 priority registration for City of Milwaukee residents begins February 26. Registration is available in person at the Milwaukee Recreation Central Office (5225 W. Vliet St., open Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) and the Citywide Programs Office (2414 W. Locust St.).

Culinary Arts
- Spring Soups Have Arrived: Learn to create seasonal soups using fresh spring vegetables, including Carrot Turmeric Soup, Cream of Asparagus Soup, Cauliflower Soup, Spring Vegetable Soup, and Tortellini Soup. Food costs are included in the class fee, which is non-refundable.
- Meatloaf Magic: Mastering the Basics: This class guides participants through techniques and recipes to elevate their meatloaf-making skills. Class fee includes food cost and is non-refundable.
Arts & Crafts
- Bracelet Bonanza: A beginner-friendly workshop focused on basic jewelry techniques and wire wrapping to create custom bracelets. A $15 (cash only) supply fee is due to the instructor on the day of the class.
- Abstract Painting with Melva: Designed for both beginners and experienced artists, this class explores the world of abstract art with hands-on projects and easy-to-follow techniques. A $15 (cash only) supply fee is due to the instructor at class. Class fee is nonrefundable.
- Fairy Gardens & Folklore: Explore the myths and folklore of fantastical creatures while designing and planting your own fairy garden. A $5.00 cash supply fee is due at the first class. Non-refundable class fee.
Wellness & Recreation
- Being Mindful of Your Emotions: Emotional Intelligence Workshop: A two-hour workshop to enhance mindfulness and explore self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Learn to respond, not react, to the world. Non-refundable class fee.
- Speed Puzzling: Participate in a friendly speed puzzle event where teams race to complete a 500-piece puzzle. At least one team member must be 18 or older.
Practical Skills & Community
- Coupons for a Cause: Learn strategies to save 50-75% on household needs by leveraging store sales, discounts, coupons, and rebates.
- MCTS Freedom on Wheels Bus Training: An interactive presentation providing a comprehensive introduction to the Milwaukee County Transit System, including trip planning, fare payment, and bus etiquette. Includes a short bus ride for practice.
- Milwaukee’s Silent City: A guided tour of Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee’s first accredited arboretum, exploring the history of notable figures buried there.
- Pickleball: Experience America’s fastest-growing sport with open play for all skill levels. Participants are encouraged to have some prior experience or complete an introductory course. BYO paddle or borrow one. Drop-ins are not allowed.
Summer Academy Registration
Registration for the Milwaukee Public Schools 2026 Summer Academy opens on February 16. The academy offers classes and adventures for students in kindergarten through grade 12, running weekdays from July 6 through July 30 at select schools.
