Manuel ‘El Flaco’ Ibáñez Hospitalized in Mexico City

Mexican actor Manuel ‘El Flaco’ Ibáñez is hospitalized, where his family has issued public updates and requested O-negative blood donations, univision.com reported. The 80-year-old star of television hits such as Vecinos and Las tontas no van al cielo entered the ABC Hospital in Santa Fe, prompting widespread concern. Speculation surrounding the actor’s condition began when sports commentator Enrique Burak posted a public appeal on X. Burak stated that Ibáñez was in delicate health at the Santa Fe facility and urged followers to secure O-negative blood units for his care. Hours later, the actor’s daughter, Daniela Ibáñez, published a video on social media to address public anxiety. She assured followers that her father is doing well, despite the urgent need for medical donors.

Family Clarifies Actor’s Medical Status

Daniela Ibáñez directly countered alarming reports circulating on social media regarding her father’s health. She asked the public not to panic while confirming his current hospital stay.

“My dad is fine, if you see it through another news and other places, do not anguish: my dad is fine, thank God,” she stated in her video message.

The family’s primary concern centers on replenishing specific hospital blood banks used during his medical care. Daniela Ibáñez emphasized that the O-negative blood type is very specific and must be actively replaced at the facility.

“The truth is that it is a very specific type of blood and since one has to replace the blood that is used, well basically it is for that,” she explained. She also shared official image guidelines detailing how eligible donors can contribute at the ABC Hospital in Santa Fe.

The hospitalization arrives just days after the comedian celebrated his 80th birthday on October 17. Neither the family nor hospital representatives have disclosed the precise medical diagnosis or procedure that required his admission to the Santa Fe facility.
