Nintendo Celebrates MAR10 Day with Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary Festivities

Nintendo is gearing up to celebrate MAR10 Day (March 10th) with a series of events and promotions honoring the 40th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game and the upcoming release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, set to hit theaters on April 1st.

What to Expect on MAR10 Day

The celebrations will include a variety of activities for fans of all ages, spanning decades of Mario gaming. Here’s a breakdown of what Nintendo has planned:

• In-Game Events: Mario Kart World will host three weeks of special in-game events.
• Sweepstakes: Fans can enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a vacation to experience SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™.
• Events at Nintendo Locations: Nintendo New York and Nintendo San Francisco will host events featuring appearances by Mario himself.
• Nintendo Switch Online Classics: Nintendo Switch Online members can revisit classic Super Mario titles from the Super NES, Game Boy, and NES. With an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, players will also have access to Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Game Boy Advance), Mario Clash, and Mario’s Tennis (Virtual Boy) on March 10th.
• Game Sales: From March 8th to 14th, select retailers, including official Nintendo U.S. Stores, will offer discounts on physical Nintendo Switch games. This includes Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and Super Mario Odyssey (suggested retail price of $39.99 each), as well as Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV (suggested retail price of $59.99) – the first Nintendo Switch 2 game from Nintendo to be on sale.
