VCSU Women’s Basketball Defeats Dakota State 78-69

MADISON,S.D. – The Valley City State University Women’s Basketball team secured a 78-69 victory against Dakota State University on Friday evening.

The Vikings showcased a strong offensive performance, led by Devan Andrews who scored 23 points. Allie Carpenter added 16 points, adn Taya Himmelfarb contributed 12 points and 8 rebounds.

VCSU started strong, taking a 20-14 lead in the first quarter. They maintained their momentum throughout the game, leading 41-32 at halftime.Dakota State attempted a comeback in the third quarter, but VCSU responded with a solid fourth quarter to secure the win.

VCSU shot 48.3% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range. They also had a strong presence on the boards, outrebounding Dakota State 38-32.

Dakota State was led by Lexi Miles with 18 points.

UP NEXT: The Vikings will travel to Jamestown to face the University of Jamestown on Saturday, December 6th, at 3 pm.
