Marblehead High School’s golf team secured an 8-0 record by the end of September, highlighted by victories over Danvers and Malden Catholic under coach Bob Green. Led by co-captains Tyler Forbes and Greyson Leventhal, the Magicians maintained a 6-0 mark in the Northeastern Conference heading into the final stretch of their regular season schedule.
Marblehead Golf Extends Streak With Wins Over Danvers and Malden Catholic
The Marblehead High School golf team captured two decisive wins during the week of September 22 to push its undefeated streak to eight matches. Playing at their home course at Tedesco, the Magicians defeated Danvers 45-27 on September 22, followed by a 47-25 non-league victory over Malden Catholic on September 23.
Coach Bob Green’s squad dominated individual pairings across both matches. Against Danvers, Marblehead claimed seven of the individual matches, with one ending in a tie. Co-captain Tyler Forbes defeated his Danvers counterpart 7-2 after shooting a round of 33. Colby Moore carded a 39 to win 5.5-3.5, and Pete Ryan shot a 37 to defeat his Danvers opponent by the same score. Additional individual winners included Will Macrina (5-4), Max King (6-3), Teddy Dulac (6-3), and John Rand (5-4). Co-captain Greyson Leventhal shot a 37 on nine holes, settling for a 4.5-4.5 tie.
Lopsided Results Continue Against Malden Catholic
The winning momentum carried directly into the following day’s matchup against Malden Catholic, where Marblehead again secured seven individual victories. Greyson Leventhal bounced back from his previous tie to defeat his opponent 6.5-2.5 with a score of 35.
Colby Moore shot a 39 to record an 8-1 triumph, while Pete Ryan and Will Macrina posted identical 6.5-2.5 wins after each shooting a 38. Max King shot a 37 for a 5.5-3.5 victory, Teddy Dulac matched that final score with a 39, and John Rand won a close 5-4 match. Co-captain Tyler Forbes dropped a tight contest despite shooting a strong round of 37.
Regular Season Schedule Nears Finish Line
Following the home victories at Tedesco, Marblehead traveled to Ferncroft to face Masco on September 29. The Magicians then prepared for a rematch against Danvers at the Wenham Country Club on September 30.
With those late-September fixtures concluding, Marblehead has five regular season matches remaining on its schedule before they test their skills against the rest of the state.
