Dutch singer Marco Borsato is pursuing legal action to recover substantial attorney’s fees following his acquittal in a sexual abuse case. The singer, one of the Netherlands’ most successful music artists, was found not guilty of sexually abusing an underage girl in December 2025, after a case that garnered significant public and media attention.

Borsato was reported to police in 2021 by a 22-year-old woman who alleged sexual abuse dating back to when she was 15. The allegations surfaced after her mother discovered details in her diary. Despite the prosecution’s recommendation of a five-month jail sentence, the court in Utrecht ruled on December 4, 2025, that there was insufficient evidence to support a conviction. Legal Fee Reimbursement Request
