Juri Cisotti Prepares Romanian Citizenship Documents as FCSB Midfielder Eyes National Team Call-Up
Italian-born FCSB midfielder Juri Cisotti has prepared his citizenship documents to become a naturalized Romanian citizen upon completing his mandatory residency period this October, Prosport reported. Cisotti, who will turn 34 on May 5 next year, would follow in the footsteps of CFR Cluj defender Mario Camora as a foreign-born player representing the Romanian national team. Romanian Football Federation (FRF) technical sources confirmed that any eligible player who wants to help the national side will not be ignored if the coach deems them a useful resource.
Marius Baciu Backs Cisotti for National Team Selection
FCSB manager Marius Baciu voiced strong support for Cisotti’s potential integration into the national squad during an appearance on Prosport’s EXCLUSIV FCSB show. Baciu praised the midfielder’s intelligence, character, and tactical versatility across multiple positions on the pitch. Former internationals Gabi Tamaș and Florin Prunea also backed the player’s national team prospects, contrasting with Dorinel Munteanu, who worked with Cisotti in Liga 3 and holds a different view on the matter.

Since his arrival at the Bucharest club, the versatile midfielder has featured on both attacking flanks, as an attacking central midfielder, in a box-to-box role, and as a defensive playmaker.

Unprompted regarding the topic of Cisotti at the national team when asked if he knew about the Italian midfielder’s steps to gain Romanian citizenship, the technician stated: I’m happy for him. I heard. He’s a very, very important player. He can play! He would have a place in the national team! He can play any position, like we play at the moment.
