Marshall Man Arrested After Crashing into TxDOT Truck During Police Chase

A 54-year-old man from Center, Texas, was arrested Tuesday after colliding with a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) truck whereas attempting to evade Marshall Police Department officers. The incident resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to both the driver and the TxDOT employee.
Details of the Incident
At approximately 3:45 p.m. On Tuesday, the Marshall Police Department received reports of a reckless driver traveling northbound on East End Boulevard, also known as U.S. 59 Marshall Police Department.
Upon arriving at the intersection of U.S. 59 and Loop 390, officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. According to police reports, the driver initially appeared to comply, pulling over to the shoulder of the road. However, as officers approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated and fled through the intersection, striking a TxDOT truck.
Arrest and Charges
Craig Alan Borders was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the TxDOT truck also received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. Following his release from the hospital, Borders was taken into custody at the Harrison County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance County Office.
