Martin Short Postpones Tour Dates Following Daughter’s Death

Martin Short has postponed several dates of his comedy tour with Steve Martin following the death of his daughter, Katherine Short, on February 24, 2026. The postponement affects all February shows of “The Best of Steve Martin & Martin Short” tour.

Shows Postponed in Milwaukee and Minneapolis

The show originally scheduled for Friday, February 27th, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the Miller High Life Theatre has been postponed. A message on the venue’s website states, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Steve Martin & Martin Short’s show…has been postponed.” Tickets will be honored for a future rescheduled date, and patrons will be contacted with further details when available. Similarly, performances scheduled for Saturday, February 28th, at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota, have also been postponed. The Orpheum Theatre’s website mirrors the message from the Miller High Life Theatre, confirming the postponement and promising updates regarding rescheduling. The Hollywood Reporter

Katherine Short’s Passing

Katherine Short, 42, died by apparent suicide, according to law enforcement sources cited by People Magazine. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at her Hollywood Hills home on February 24th. The L.A. Medical Examiner ruled her cause of death a suicide. The Hollywood Reporter

A statement released by the Short family expressed their devastation and requested privacy. “Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world,” the statement read. People Magazine

Remaining Tour Dates

As of February 26, 2026, the March 13th performance at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., remains scheduled. Deadline reports that the remainder of the tour, extending through early December, is also currently unaffected.
