Mary Black, Coleen Rooney, and Jason McAteer to Appear on The Late Late Present

Music legend Mary Black and TV personality Coleen Rooney are set to be guests on this week’s The Late Late Show, hosted by Patrick Kielty, airing Friday on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

A Celebration of Mary Black’s Legacy

This week’s episode will honor folk music icon Mary Black with a special segment celebrating her remarkable career. Black will perform two of her hit songs, “Katie” and “Carolina Rua.” She will be joined in studio by her son, Danny O’Reilly, frontman of The Coronas, and her daughter, singer Róisín O, who will perform a track she wrote for her mother. A montage of tributes from those closest to Black will also be shown, along with a surprise appearance from a well-known face. Black will also reflect on the recent passing of her friend and fellow music legend, Dolores Keane.

Coleen Rooney will join Patrick Kielty on the couch to discuss her life in the media, her marriage to footballer Wayne Rooney, her family connections to Ireland, and her latest venture into the world of fashion.

Ahead of Ireland’s World Cup 2026 qualifier against Czechia, former international Jason McAteer will be in studio to discuss his career, including playing in two World Cups, and to address his past feud with teammate Roy Keane.
