The Massachusetts State Lottery has launched a limited-time promotional drawing running from October 1 through October 31, offering players a chance to secure free tickets by purchasing qualifying multi-game wagers at retail locations. Under the rules of the October promotion, players who buy $6 or more of any Draw or Monitor game on a single ticket automatically enter the drawing for a complimentary $1 Quic Pic.
Qualifying Retail Games and Ticket Rules
To qualify for the promotion, participants must purchase eligible games exclusively at authorized retail terminals. Online purchases through the lottery’s digital platforms are excluded from the promotion. Eligible products include established draw and monitor games such as The Numbers Game, Mass Cash, Megabucks, Millionaire for Life, Mega Millions, Powerball, Keno, and The Wheel of Luck. Single-ticket purchases meeting the $6 minimum threshold trigger the promotional mechanics.
When a player wins the promotion, the point-of-sale terminal generates a separate, second slip immediately following the primary purchase. According to lottery specifications, the free promotional ticket prints out as a $1 Quic Pic specifically designated for either Mass Cash or The Numbers Game (First 3 Any). The system automatically assigns the free wager to the next available draw for one of these two games.
Prizes and Estimated Odds of Winning
The promotional structure provides a fixed prize tier consisting solely of a $1 Quic Pic ticket for Mass Cash or The Numbers Game. State lottery officials estimate that the chances of winning a free promotional ticket are approximately one in 7.6. These odds fluctuate dynamically based on the total volume of qualifying tickets purchased across the state during the October promotional window.
Winners receive their tickets instantly at the counter without needing to submit an additional claim form or verify numbers online.
