Matthew Needham, known for his work in House of the Dragon, has been officially revealed as the voice of The Joker in the upcoming second season of Batman: Caped Crusader. According to Prime Video announcements made during the series panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Needham joins the series alongside returning core cast members Hamish Linklater and Jamie Chung.
The announcement arrived at the kickoff of the San Diego Comic-Con panel, which featured the world premiere screening of the first episode from Season 2. Following the screening, executive producers James Tucker and Geoffrey Thorne joined voice cast members Linklater, Chung, and Needham on stage to discuss the creative direction of the noir-infused animated drama. The panel provided fans with an early look at the darker tone planned for the upcoming episodes.
Release Details and Global Streaming Availability
Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 will debut as a binge release on Friday, July 31. According to Prime Video schedules, all episodes will become available exclusively on the platform in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The first season achieved critical acclaim and holds a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with its complete run currently available to stream.
To coincide with the Season 2 premiere, Amazon Luna announced the upcoming launch of Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles. The companion game trailer debuted at the conclusion of the Comic-Con panel ahead of a July 31 release date. The game will be accessible to Prime members and Luna subscribers via the Luna app across multiple international markets, including the U.S., UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
