The Dallas Mavericks (11-18) lost to the Philadelphia 76ers (16-11) on Saturday night, 121-114.Tyrese Maxey led all scorers with 38 points as the Sixers dominated the final quarter. Cooper Flagg and Anthony Davis each scored 24 points in the loss for the Mavericks.

The game began with a fast pace, as both teams traded baskets early on. Philadelphia initially struggled with shots in transition, allowing Dallas to build an early 13-8 lead. However, the Sixers continued to attack, capitalizing on Dallas’s frequent turnovers. VJ Edgecombe effectively drove against Max Christie, scoring on several arduous shots. Philadelphia extended thier lead to double digits but committed late-quarter errors, enabling Dallas to close the gap with transition baskets and free throws. The first quarter ended with the Mavericks trailing 38-33.

In the second quarter, Dallas focused on reducing turnovers and gradually chipped away at Philadelphia’s lead. The Mavericks briefly regained the lead with a strong drive and finish by Cooper Flagg, but the Sixers quickly responded. Turnovers resurfaced for Dallas, allowing Philadelphia to rebuild a nine-point advantage. The teams entered halftime with Dallas down 68-62.

Dallas started the second half strong, scoring 10 consecutive points and outscoring the Sixers 35-23 in the quarter. The Mavericks’ offensive surge allowed them to take a 97-91 lead into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter saw Maxey take over, scoring repeatedly and leading the Sixers on a decisive run. philadelphia’s defense tightened, forcing Dallas into difficult shots and turnovers. The Sixers outscored the Mavericks 30-27 in the final frame, securing the 121-114 victory.
