Max Pezzali to Headline Sanremo 2026 with Unique ‘Party Boat’ Experience
Italian singer-songwriter Max Pezzali is set to be the first guest performer at the 2026 Sanremo Music Festival, taking a novel approach to the event with a five-night “Party Boat” experience. The festival, entering its 76th edition, will see Pezzali as a resident performer aboard the Costa Toscana cruise ship.
A Floating Stage for a Musical Journey
Pezzali’s residency, dubbed ‘Max Forever – The Party Boat,’ will transform the Costa Toscana into a themed entertainment venue each night from Tuesday to Saturday during the festival. He envisions the ship as a “park playground” to develop unique performances, with each evening dedicated to a different theme inspired by his discography.
Themed Nights Reflect Pezzali’s Career
The themed nights will include a “Disco Night” featuring his dance-oriented tracks, a “Western” night inspired by his album Nord Sud Ovest Est, a “Happy Days” themed evening, a “Love Boat” night centered around his romantic songs like “Come mai,” and a “Giochi” (Games) night. Pezzali aims to integrate the visual aesthetic of his music into the ship’s atmosphere, drawing on the comic book and imaginative elements of his operate.
Beyond Sanremo: Tour and Residency Plans
Following his Sanremo appearance, Pezzali will embark on “Max Forever Gli Anni d’Oro – Stadi 2026,” a summer tour encompassing cities including Rome, Naples, and Milan, as well as Lignano, Turin, Bologna, Messina, Bari, and Padua. He too hinted at a potential future themed cruise, inspired by the success of the ‘Party Boat’ concept.
Sanremo 2026 and Carlo Conti’s Vision
The announcement of Pezzali’s participation was made by Carlo Conti, the conductor and artistic director of the Sanremo Music Festival. Conti expressed his enthusiasm for Pezzali’s contribution, describing it as a “cherry on the cake” for the upcoming festival. Another super guest will be revealed on January 12th.
Pezzali’s appearance at Sanremo marks a shift from traditional performance venues, embracing a more unconventional approach to live music.
