CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State redshirt senior Maximo Renteria has been named the Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week for the fourth time this season, the conference announced on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. This achievement marks a significant milestone in his career and Pac-12 wrestling history.

A Historic Achievement

Renteria is now the fourth wrestler in Pac-12 history to receive the Wrestler of the Week honor four times in a career. Notably, he is the first to accomplish this feat all within a single season. Only Stanford’s Shane Griffith holds more weekly honors, with five throughout his career .

The latest recognition comes after Renteria’s impressive 9-4 victory over No. 21 Ezekiel Witt of North Dakota State on Friday night. This win occurred during what was Renteria’s final competition at Gill Coliseum. He secured a 3-2 lead in the first period and extended it with a five-point second period, adding a riding time point for the final score.

Season Stats and Tournament Outlook

Entering the Pac-12 Tournament on March 6, Renteria boasts an 18-win record for the 2025-26 season. A significant portion of his success comes from victories against ranked opponents, with seven wins secured against wrestlers in the national rankings.
