Maya Imamori Addresses Past Pregnancy in YouTube Interview

Japanese influencer and former actress Maya Imamori revealed on October 14, 2026, that she experienced a pregnancy during her first year of high school. sportsseoul.com reported that Imamori shared the disclosure during an appearance on Junpei Nakamachi’s YouTube channel, where she discussed her current desire to have children.

“If I have a good person, I want to do it right now,” Imamori said during the interview, according to Japanese media reports cited by sportsseoul.com. She added that the father of the child during her high school years was of Chinese nationality, and stated that her wish to have a child now stems purely from instinct.

Public Backlash Prompts Apology and Account Deactivation

The remarks drew sharp criticism from online viewers across Japan. Commentators on YouTube questioned her intentions, with some calling the disclosure shocking and suggesting she sought attention without understanding the weight of her statements.

In response to the mounting negative reaction, Imamori posted an apology on her social media channels. “I didn’t know that single word would lead to criticism and abuse,” she wrote, expressing deep regret for making irresponsible statements. She further noted that she thinks about the child constantly, stating that six years have passed without a day going by where the thought does not cross her mind. Her social media accounts were subsequently set to private.

Entertainment Career and Prior Controversies

Imamori entered the entertainment industry in 2023 through a gravia modeling debut in the Japanese men’s magazine Weekly Playboy before transitioning to acting. Her career faced disruption last November when reports revealed she had consumed alcohol while still a minor at age 19. That incident led to her departure from the cast of the television series Number One Sentai Gozyuger.
