Apple TV presented a first preview of the highly anticipated movie “Mayday.” The protagonists, Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh, announced that “Mayday” will premiere globally on Apple TV on Friday, September 4, 2026.
Reynolds and Branagh team up in “Mayday,” an action-packed, genre-busting buddy comedy that puts a radical spin on the spy thriller. When Lieutenant Troy “Assassin” Kelly (Reynolds), a star US Navy pilot, is sent on a secret mission into Russian territory in the middle of the Cold War, the operation fails, leaving him stranded behind enemy lines. Discovered by Nikolai Ustinov (Branagh), a gruff former KGB agent with a penchant for American culture, Troy believes himself lost. But could an unlikely alliance between the two lead to their rescue and a bond neither of them anticipated?
In addition to Reynolds and Branagh, the cast includes Marcin Dorocinski, Maria Bakalova, David Morse and more.
An Apple Original Movie from Skydance Media, “Mayday” is written, directed and produced by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
