Mayo Clinic in Phoenix has secured the No. 1 ranking among Arizona hospitals for the 14th consecutive year, according to the 2025–2026 Best Hospitals rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. The medical center also earned a spot on the national Honor Roll, distinguishing itself among top-performing institutions nationwide.
U.S. News National Honor Roll Recognition
According to U.S. News & World Report, Mayo Clinic’s campuses in both Phoenix and Rochester achieved placement on the exclusive Honor Roll. Data shows Mayo Clinic is the only healthcare organization in the country with two hospitals achieving this designation for 2025–2026. The Honor Roll evaluates hospitals across 15 medical specialties and 22 specific procedures and conditions, recognizing institutions with the highest overall performance metrics.
Nationally, Mayo Clinic in Phoenix earned rankings in 10 distinct medical specialties. Data from the publication shows the facility’s highest specialty placement was No. 14 in gastroenterology and GI surgery, rising from No. 20 the previous year. Additional national rankings include ear, nose, and throat at No. 17; neurology and neurosurgery at No. 19; cancer and geriatrics tied at No. 21; pulmonology and lung surgery at No. 22; diabetes and endocrinology at No. 27; orthopedics at No. 36; urology at No. 37; and cardiology, heart, and vascular surgery at No. 45.
Arizona Hospital Standings and Regional Impact
Seven Arizona hospitals made the publication’s 504-hospital list for 2025–2026. Following Mayo Clinic at the top of the state list were Banner-University Medical Center Phoenix, HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center, Banner-University Medical Center Tucson, Banner Boswell Medical Center, TMC Healthcare-Tucson, and Chandler Regional Medical Center, according to U.S. News data.
Beyond Mayo Clinic, only two other Arizona facilities earned national specialty recognition. Banner-University Medical Center Phoenix ranked No. 37 in ear, nose, and throat, while Banner-University Medical Center Tucson ranked No. 45 in the same specialty, according to regional findings.
