Marvel Studios Adjusts MCU Release Dates, New Films Scheduled Through 2029
Marvel Studios has reshuffled its release calendar, delaying some highly anticipated projects while adding dates for four currently untitled films through 2029. The changes impact several key titles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), including Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
MCU Release Date Updates
Originally slated for February 18, 2028, one Marvel film has been pushed back to July 28, 2028. Another film, previously scheduled for November 10, 2028, has been removed from Disney’s release schedule altogether. Yet, Disney has now assigned release dates to four new Marvel projects: May 4, 2029, and July 13, 2029.

Speculation on Upcoming Titles
The titles of the four films scheduled for 2029 remain unknown, leading to speculation among fans. Potential projects include Black Panther 3, Blade, and a new X-Men film. Other possibilities include sequels to The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as well as projects like Armor Wars and a Young Avengers series.
The Russo Brothers Return
Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, known collectively as the Russo Brothers, who previously directed Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Captain America: Brave New World Details
Captain America: Brave New World, starring Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America, is set to release in February 2025. [1] The film follows Wilson as he investigates a conspiracy involving U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford.
