Megan Pfarr Named CEO of New HSHS Rehabilitation Hospital in Green Bay
GREEN BAY, Wis. And BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) and Lifepoint Rehabilitation have announced that Megan Pfarr will serve as the first chief executive officer of the Hospital Sisters Health System | Rehabilitation Hospital, slated to open later this year in Green Bay, Wisconsin. HSHS and Lifepoint Rehabilitation jointly made the announcement on March 17, 2026.
Pfarr’s Extensive Healthcare Leadership Experience
Pfarr brings a wealth of experience to her new role, previously serving as executive director of primary care for Prevea Health. During her time at Prevea, she oversaw the inpatient primary care (hospitalist) service across HSHS Wisconsin Market hospitals and managed a large division encompassing family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, geriatrics and occupational medicine. She has held several executive leadership positions within both HSHS and Prevea, including Divisional Director of Therapy Services.
Pfarr also played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading operations and vaccine initiatives in Northeast Wisconsin.
New Rehabilitation Hospital to Expand Access to Care
The new rehabilitation hospital, currently under construction on South Taylor Street near HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center, will significantly expand inpatient rehabilitation capacity in the region. It will double the capacity of the existing inpatient rehabilitation unit at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, addressing a growing need for specialized rehabilitation services in Northeast Wisconsin. This expansion will also allow HSHS St. Vincent Hospital to repurpose its current inpatient rehabilitation unit to meet acute care demands.
Partnership and Leadership Vision
“We are thrilled that Megan has accepted the opportunity to serve as the key leader for the HSHS Rehabilitation Hospital,” said Bob Erickson, president and CEO, HSHS Wisconsin Market. “In our newly founded relationship with Lifepoint, it was critical to find a leader aligned in our purpose, as well as performance and values with a proven track record for patient-centered care.”
David Stark, chief operating officer of Lifepoint Rehabilitation, highlighted Pfarr’s dedication to clinical and community advocacy, her patient-first approach, and her success in leading highly engaged teams.
“Megan’s tenure with Prevea and HSHS evidence her passion for clinical and community advocacy, as well as her patient-first approach to service innovation and clear success leading highly engaged teams,” said Stark. “We are confident she is the right person to champion the culture of teamwork and care excellence we’re building at HSHS Rehabilitation Hospital. We look forward to supporting her as she builds her leadership team and prepares for the hospital’s opening later this year.”
Specialized Rehabilitation Services
Upon opening, HSHS Rehabilitation Hospital will feature the only regional Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) unit in Northeast Wisconsin. A team of expert rehabilitation professionals will provide comprehensive care for adults recovering from conditions such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic surgery, amputation, and other debilitating conditions. The hospital will be supported by physicians from Prevea Health who currently provide care in the inpatient rehabilitation unit at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital.
Pfarr, a physical therapist and certified lymphedema therapist, holds a doctoral degree and a master’s degree in physical therapy from Saint Louis University. She has also completed executive leadership programs through the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the American Medical Group Association (AMGA).
“The opening of HSHS Rehabilitation Hospital is transformative for the greater Green Bay area,” said Pfarr. “As an experienced physical therapist, I am confident that the resources and technology available to our clinicians in a dedicated, free-standing hospital like this one will be game-changing. I am honored to lead this team into a new chapter and know that we are stronger through partnership.”
