Megawati presented Ramos-Horta with a piece of traditional Indonesian batik and a copy of her book, “Spirit Kemanusiaan” (Spirit of Humanity), which reflects her advocacy for humanitarian values. In return, Ramos-Horta gifted Megawati a traditional Timor-Leste handicraft bag and renowned Arabica coffee from Timor-Leste. Megawati and Ramos-Horta share a relationship that extends beyond formal diplomacy. President Ramos-Horta has formally invited Megawati to Dili to receive the Grand Collar of the Order of Timor-Leste, the nation’s highest honor, in recognition of her significant contributions to international peace.
