Directed by Brett Ratner, Melania had a reported $40 million production budget according to The Guardian, and ultimately grossed more than $16.6 million worldwide during its theatrical run.
Premiere and Reception
A premiere screening of Melania was held at the White House on January 29, with guests including Mike Tyson and Erika Kirk as reported by Entertainment Weekly. Nicki Minaj also attended a screening at the Trump-Kennedy Center.
Despite its popularity with some audiences, the documentary faced criticism. It was briefly pulled from theaters in South Africa and Oregon due to cancellations and altered descriptions as noted by The Guardian.
