Fairmont State Swimming & Diving teams conclude Fall Season with Strong Performances

The Fairmont State university swimming and diving teams finished their fall semester competition schedule with notable achievements, highlighted by wins in relays and strong individual performances. The teams will resume competition on January 8th at Saint Michael’s college.

Diving Success

Fairmont State’s divers showcased their skills, with standout performances from both competitors. Alexander McQuaid excelled in the 1-meter dive, scoring 330.55 points, and in the 3-meter dive, achieving a score of 325.95.

Relay Victories and Strong finishes

The Falcons demonstrated their strength in relay events. The 800-meter freestyle relay team secured first place with a time of 6:58.54. the winning team consisted of Jakub Zukowski, Wielgoszinski, alex Kosel, and Ivanchikov.

The 200-meter freestyle relay team of ivanchikov, Zukowski, Jack meekins, and Ethan rehkopf finished second with a time of 1:25.30. The 400-meter freestyle relay team also secured a second-place finish in 3:07.32, with a lineup of Meekins, Ivanchikov, Kosel, and Rehkopf.

Individual Achievements

Beyond the relays,several Falcons achieved individual success. Alex Kosel placed third in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1:43.50,while Ethan Rehkopf finished third in the 50-meter freestyle,clocking in at 21.43.

Looking Ahead

The Fairmont State swimming and diving teams have completed a successful fall season and are now preparing for the spring semester. Their first competition of the spring will be on January 8th at Saint Michael’s College.
