Miami Hurricanes Defeat Florida State 43-35 in Double Overtime
The No. 3 Miami Hurricanes defeated the Florida State Seminoles 43-35 in a double-overtime game on Saturday night that ended in a pair of overturned and reviewed plays, as sports.yahoo.com reported. The victory keeps the Hurricanes undefeated at 6-0 on the year, while the loss drops the Seminoles to 3-4.
Late-Game Chaos and Overtime Execution
The contest concluded in chaotic fashion during the closing moments of regulation. Facing a fourth-and-21, Florida State quarterback Ashton Daniels completed a pass to Micahi Danzy for a touchdown, but officials overturned the play due to an offensive holding call, according to sports.yahoo.com. On the subsequent fourth-and-31, Daniels threw another jump ball into the end zone where Seminoles wide receiver Duce Robinson appeared to catch it, though the play was ruled an interception on the field and later upheld upon review.

After both teams scored a touchdown in the first extra session, the game advanced to a second overtime where any touchdown required a mandatory two-point conversion attempt. Miami quarterback Darian Mensah connected with wide receiver Malachi Toney for the double-overtime score. Toney then threw a pass to a wide-open Cooper Barkate to successfully secure the two-point conversion.
Malachi Toney Leads the Miami Offense
Malachi Toney finished the night with 154 yards and two touchdowns on 11 receptions, pacing the Hurricanes in all receiving categories. He also contributed 31 yards on two carries and completed his lone passing attempt for the decisive two-point conversion. The Hurricanes overcame a 21-14 deficit with 9:33 remaining in regulation by orchestrating a touchdown drive, forcing a fumble, and scoring again to claim a 28-21 advantage before Florida State forced overtime with a late score.
