The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan men’s track and field team delivered a series of strong performances at the Spec Towns Invitational in Athens, Georgia, concluding competition on Saturday, April 11. The meet served as a critical tuning session for the Wolverines, who saw multiple athletes secure top-10 finishes and set new personal benchmarks.

Sprint Dominance and Personal Bests

Michigan’s sprint squad showed significant speed on the Spec Towns Track. Jake Machiniak led the charge in the 100-meter dash, claiming second place with a time of 10.59 seconds. Teammate Corey Royster also made an impact, placing ninth with a time of 10.88 seconds.

The 400-meter dash proved to be a standout event for the Wolverines, as two athletes recorded personal bests. Miles Brown finished fifth with a time of 46.70 seconds, while John O’Reilly followed closely in sixth place, clocking in at 46.89 seconds.
