According to a message from Valve received by the developer, the DMCA notice alleged copyright infringement related to Allumeria‘s use of Minecraft-related content. Microsoft cited a specific screenshot as evidence of the alleged infringement. This led to the game’s immediate removal from the Steam platform.
Under Steam’s policies,Unomelon had the option to submit a counter-notice,asserting that Allumeria did not violate any copyright laws. However, the developer believes the takedown was likely triggered by an automated enforcement system, perhaps Tracer.AI, without direct human review from Microsoft.
This suspicion proved accurate, as Allumeria‘s Steam page was fully reinstated the following day without the need for a counter-notice or any legal intervention. The swift restoration suggests an automated process and a subsequent correction, avoiding a potentially protracted legal dispute.
