After the third day of the hockey tournament at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan, Juraj Slafkovský is tied for second place with a record of two goals and the same number of assists.

The Disciplinary Committee of the 2026 Olympic Games awarded Italian ice hockey player Cristiano Digiacint a one-game suspension for an incident involving an illegal tackle on the head or neck of an opponent.
It was a foul in Friday’s match with Slovakia (2:3), for which the 30-year-old striker received a two-minute penalty during the match.

8:55 Fiala will not play again
Swiss hockey player Kevin Fiala did not finish Friday’s duel at the 2026 Olympics after a collision with Canadian opponent Tom Wilson. He was carried away on a stretcher and will miss the rest of the tournament.
Wilson unfortunately bumped into Fial in the 58th minute, when the “maple leaves” were already leading 5:1, which was also the final result.
“He’s a tough guy, he didn’t say anything, he didn’t yell. He didn’t really show any emotion at all,” Wilson responded, according to The Athletic.
7:15 Malinin messed up his ride
Ilia Malinin started the ride as planned: with a great quadruple flip. But the expected quadruple axel was just a crow – that is, a simple jump. Malinin lost 12-13 points on that, but definitely not a chance to win.
“I knew I didn’t need a perfect ride to win,” he confirmed.
It seemed that the mistake did not throw him, because the quadruple lutz was excellent. However, the quadruple rittberg was only a double, and after another quadruple lutz, which should have been a combination, came the fall.
At that time, it was already clear that Malinin would not win the Olympics and probably would not even win a medal. At that moment, he didn’t look like an alien, or like a god of fours, but more like a little boy who is about to cry.
Even his father and coach Roman Skorniakov was just biting his lips in kiss & cry.
Malinin received 156.33 points in the free ride – his personal best is 238.24 points in the free ride. His total score of 264.49 points was finally enough for him in eighth place in Milan.

The eighth competition day at the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo will once again bring a lot of battles for precious metals.
In addition to Slovakia’s duel with Sweden, the hockey tournament continues with matches between Germany and Latvia, the home Italians will challenge Finland, and the USA hockey players will compete against Denmark in the evening match.
Medals will be contested in downhill skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, acrobatic skiing, short track, skeleton, ski jumping and speed skating.
