Miley Cyrus Reflects on Hannah Montana Legacy, Admits Forgetting Lyrics

Even after years, Miley Cyrus doesn’t always recognize her own songs – including those from her iconic role as Hannah Montana. In a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Cyrus tested her memory of lyrics from both her solo work and her Disney Channel days.

Testing Her Hannah Montana Knowledge

During the segment, Cyrus successfully identified “This Is the Life,” calling it her favorite Hannah Montana song. She explained its significance, noting, “It was the first song I ever cut as Hannah Montana, so now, 20 years later, that it’s still living its best life, that makes me happy.” She too quickly recognized “The Best of Both Worlds,” but stumbled on “He Could Be the One,” questioning the song’s difficulty: “Dude, you said these were easy… What the hell? I don’t frickin’ remember this song.” She also drew a blank on a lyric from Hannah Montana: The Movie.

Favorite Tracks and Lasting Impact

Cyrus confidently identified “Rock Star,” attributing her knowledge to its popularity with Hannah Montana superfan Alex Cooper, host of the upcoming Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special. “Observe You Again” was another easy identification, as it marked her first single released under her own name. She faltered with “Ordinary Girl” but recovered with hits like “Party in the U.S.A.” and “Hoedown Throwdown.”

She also remembered “Always Find Your Way Back Home,” her controversial Bangerz track “We Can’t Stop,” and “Nobody’s Perfect,” a Hannah Montana song she particularly enjoys. The segment concluded with “The Climb.”

A Defining Role

Reflecting on her time as Hannah Montana, Cyrus expressed a sense of destiny, stating, “I couldn’t imagine any other destiny for me. It felt like a perfect fit of fate, exactly what I was made to do and built for.”
